Disaster relief company opening facility in Monroeville
Missouri-based disaster relief company Kelly & Company is expanding its operation by buying a warehouse in Monroeville. This will give the company a location closer to the Gulf Coast to store equipment. The warehouse will house 25% of the company’s assets. Kelly & Company provides “mobile cities” for utility and oil company workers who respond to disasters. – Alabama NewsCenter
Judge mulling $111 million Bellefonte Plant offer
A federal judge is hearing arguments on whether the Tennessee Valley Authority must honor a $111 million purchase offer for its unfinished Bellefonte Nuclear Power Plant in Hollywood in Jackson County. TVA began building the plant in 1974 but never finished it. A developer wants to buy it but does not have regulatory approval, yet. – Chattanooga Times Free Press
Dental implant company plans Hoover expansion
Hoover-based BioHorizons Implant Systems is planning a $2.5 million expansion. The dental implant company, which has been in Hoover about 14 years, plans to add 11,000 square feet to its 72,000 square feet it has now. The expansion should add about 20 jobs. – Hoover Sun
Carnival Sensation returns to Mobile
The Carnival Sensation cruise ship is back in Mobile, and its 110 crew members will receive first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine through USA Health. The Carnival Sensation will be the ship sailing out of Mobile once cruises resume at America’s ports. – Fox 10
