Cynthia McCarty has joined Southern States Bank’s board of directors.
McCarty, a professor of economics in the College of Commerce and Business and director of the Center for Economic Education at Jacksonville State University, has been in higher education for more than 34 years. She has been at Jacksonville State since 1990, where she has served as an instructor, associate professor and professor of economics.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in foreign language international trade with a minor in finance and economics at Auburn University and her MBA at Samford University. She earned her PhD in economics at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
