Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants, a lifestyle brand centered around food and wine, has announced the opening of its first location in Alabama on February 9, 2026. The new restaurant is located at 8228 Highway 72 W., Madison, AL 35758.
Having celebrated its 20th anniversary in October, Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants is a fusion of familiar elements — modern casual restaurant, Napa-style tasting room and artisanal retail market — combined to create an entirely new hospitality experience. Headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois, and founded in 2005 by CEO Tim McEnery, Cooper’s Hawk offers a contemporary American menu with thoughtfully curated food and award-winning wine pairings.
Cooper’s Hawk is built upon McEnery’s passionate belief that food and wine hold the power to forge lasting connections. The brand is home to the largest wine club in the world, with more than 750,000 members who enjoy limited-production Wines of the Month, exclusive travel and dining experiences and a variety of other benefits — making Cooper’s Hawk a premier destination for wine lovers and food enthusiasts alike.
The Madison culinary team is proudly led by Danielle Rice, who works closely with Executive Chef Matt McMillin to ensure the utmost in quality and presentation while redefining the modern casual dining experience. The contemporary-American menu is infused with international flavors, and each dish on the menu is listed with a bin number, guiding guests to their selection’s perfect wine pairing.
Cooper’s Hawk offers a variety of lunch, brunch, happy hour and dinner options, as well as a dedicated gluten-free menu, kids’ menu, carryout and catering. Popular dishes include:
• Crispy Brussels Sprouts: Cashews, Mint, Sweet Tai Chili, Sesame-Sriracha
Aioli (Pairs with Bin 72, Cooper’s Hawk Moscato: A bright, fruity and floral wine with notes of white grape, nectarine, guava and orange blossom, balanced sweetness, and a long, elegant floral finish.)

• Soy Ginger Atlantic Salmon: Wasabi-Buttered Mashed, Asian Slaw (Pairs with Bin 50, Cooper’s Hawk Scarletto: a Brachetto-style sparkling red, featuring a vibrant ruby red color with aromas of grape jelly, rose petals, candied cherries and fresh strawberries,
complemented by juicy red fruit flavors and lively effervescence.)
• Gnocchi Carbonara: Pancetta, Chicken, Sage, Peas, Parmesan Garlic Cream Sauce (Pairs with Bin 74, Cooper’s Hawk Lux Chardonnay: a dry, full-bodied palate featuring bright citrus, peach and subtle spice notes.)

The winery has received more than 600 wine awards, importing grapes from the best vineyards across the globe and producing over 60 varietals. Crafted to please a range of palates, Cooper’s Hawk wines include selections that are accessible for those new to the world of wine, as well as complex and full-bodied options for more seasoned drinkers. In addition to the wine menu, guests can choose from a selection of craft cocktails and sangrias made with Cooper’s Hawk wine.
This location features a large indoor dining area that can accommodate 265 guests and a covered patio that seats an additional 40 people. The design pays homage to Madison’s heritage, drawing inspiration from the historic farmlands that once shaped the site. Warm, rich tones and tactile finishes create a welcoming atmosphere. Local artistry celebrates the area’s Rocket City identity and innovative spirit, complemented by hand-painted vineyard pieces that honor tradition. Natural materials, organic patterns and warm lighting weave together a grounded yet sophisticated experience reflecting both the vineyard’s character and Madison’s unique sense of place.
The venue also houses flexible private dining space for up to 48 guests. As with every Cooper’s Hawk location, the restaurant is fronted by a Napa-style tasting room and retail space.
