Company’s drone will deliver cargo between rocket launches
Huntsville-based Aevum, a space startup company, has received a patent that will allow its Ravn X rocket to be used both as a space launcher and a cargo delivery device. The company says it will launch rockets eight to 10 times a year but will mostly use Ravn X for autonomous cargo and delivery services. The Ravn X is currently in the testing phase. – Space News

Huntsville biotechnology firm buys German company
Huntsville’s Discovery Life Sciences has acquired Targos Molecular Pathology, a German biomarker development services firm. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Discovery said it will combine its North American IHC (immunohistochemistry) pathology labs with Targos’ operation into a single global scientific team. – Genome Web

Regions building, workforce center open in Tuscaloosa
A new Regions Bank building and the West Alabama Workforce and Community Development Center opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Tuscaloosa. Regions built a new building after selling its old building to the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama to build the workforce center. – Tuscaloosa News 

CFD Research breaks ground on new Huntsville lab
Huntsville-based CFD Research broke ground Wednesday on its 13,265-square-foot laboratory in Cummings Research Park. The new facility is behind the company’s headquarters, which is adjacent to Hudson-Alpha Institute for Biotechnology. The lab will include capabilities in the areas of biomedical, energy, electronics, virology and biomechanics.  – Huntsville Business Journal

Biscuit Belly coming to Huntsville, Birmingham
Kentucky-based Biscuit Belly will enter the Alabama market for the first time with four locations in Huntsville and Birmingham. The restaurant serves breakfast and brunch seven days a week. – Louisville Courier Journal
