Alabama’s Department of Commerce has been recognized by the German state of Niedersachsen as its Outstanding Economic Development Partner of the Year. The award came at an international trade show in Chicago. The award was given by a group called Invest in Niedersachsen.   – Made in Alabama

 

HudsonAlpha has new Wiregrass leader

Dean Mitchell, former executive director of the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce, has been named director of HudsonAlpha Wiregrass. HudsonAlpha’s Wiregrass campus will focus on agricultural research, economic development and education.  – Dothan Eagle

Huntsville group lands $7.5 million Army award

Canvas Inc. in Huntsville has been awarded a $7.5 million modification to a U.S. Army contract for program service support for the Aviation Mission Systems and Architecture Program Office. All of the work, to be completed within a year, will be performed in Huntsville. – Department of Defense

 

Auburn dedicates Culinary Science Center

Auburn University officially dedicated the Tony and Libba Rane Culinary Science Center on Thursday night. The new center is a teaching facility for hospitality management. – Auburn University
