ClearMINDnow launches nationwide drug testing tool

The app aims to make remote monitoring easier

Birmingham-based ClearMINDnow has launched an app-based drug testing tool nationwide.

Available through a subscription, the app and accompanying saliva kits work through remote monitoring, which allows for test results via email.

“We want those who are needing drug testing not to feel like there are so many barriers — perhaps they don’t have transportation to get to a testing site or the site isn’t open when they can get there,” said Alan Ritchie, president of ClearMINDnow. “Whether they are testing because it’s mandatory or because they’re motivated to stay on track, we want to make it as convenient as possible.”

With the app, customers can test from anywhere with a smartphone and wi-fi. The app takes users through a step-by-step process that takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. The results can be sent to users and others, along with educational resources and other support materials.

ClearMINDnow was founded by Liz Read, who developed the idea for the app and testing process while trying to help her family post-treatment. The company secured funding by winning the 2020 Alabama Launchpad competition and bringing it to local investors. The company’s focus is on those coming out of treatment who seek additional aftercare.
