The City of Mobile is trying to get Trader Joe’s to come to town, and officials are seeking help. They’re urging people to join the Bring Trader Joe’s to Mobile Facebook page, and there’s a petition there, too. The California-based market already has locations in Birmingham and Huntsville.  – Bama Buzz

 

Construction Partners enters Nashville area

Dothan-based Construction Partners, which specializes in the construction and maintenance of roadways in six southeastern states, has acquired three hot-mix asphalt plants in the Nashville, Tennessee, metro area. They bought the plants from Blue Water Industries.  – Construction Partners

Wind Creek partners with Chicago Bulls

Atmore-based Wind Creek Hospitality has signed a multi-year partnership with the Chicago Bulls as its official casino. The Wind Creek Chicago Southland Casino and Resort will be built in East Hazel Crest and Homewood outside of Chicago. Auburn, Tuskegee create umbrella partnership

Auburn University and Tuskegee University have expanded partnerships between the universities to include research, academics and community engagement around health inequities.  The collaboration includes a committee to review and recommend proposals to the university presidents. – Auburn University

 

USA approved to build west Mobile surgery center

USA Health has gained approval to build a freestanding surgery center on its West Mobile Campus.  The surgery scenter will be located on Hillcrest Road near USA’s campus in west Mobile. – Fox 10
