City of Birmingham lending BSC $5 million

Financially strapped Birmingham-Southern College will receive $5 million in loans from the city of Birmingham. That means the college also has $2.5 million coming from the United Methodist Church’s North Alabama Conference Board of Pension and Health Benefits, funds that were contingent upon the city’s loan.  – Bham Now

Brasfield & Gorrie starts work on Georgia distribution center

Birmingham-based Brasfield & Gorrie has started construction on a distribution center for Prologis in Buford, Georgia. The 350,000-square-foot facility will include office space, 46 dock doors and more. – Brasfield & Gorrie

Daleville counselor named national counselor of the year

Diana Virgil, school counselor at Daleville High School, has been named 2024 School Counselor of the Year by the American School Counselor Association. She is the first person from Alabama to receive that national recognition. – Alabama School Counselors
