Calhoun Community College and the University of Alabama in Huntsville have entered a Memorandum of Understanding that streamlines the transfer of Honors Program students between the schools.
While Calhoun’s honors students must first be admitted to UAH as transfer students, once they are admitted they will be granted automatic admission to the Honors College at UAH. Once admitted to the Honors College, the students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25.
“This is a great milestone not only for both colleges but also for the students who are enrolled in our prestigious Honors Program,” said Joe Burke, Calhoun interim president.
Calhoun Community College students can transfer up to 15 hours of honors credit that will apply towards their UAH Honors diploma.
“We have the utmost confidence that this pathway will assist to increase the number of our students who transfer to UAH,” said Alan Stephenson, vice president of academics at Calhoun.
