The Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce has named Caleb Goodwyn chief officer economic development. In the role, Goodwyn will lead one of Alabama’s top-performing economic development organizations, representing a public/private partnership committed to driving economic growth in the capital city and central Alabama region.
The top economic development position at the Montgomery Chamber stands on a legacy of leadership, following the decades-long direction of Ellen McNair, who was named secretary of the Alabama Department of Commerce in 2023 by Governor Kay Ivey.
Goodwyn previously served in various economic development capacities with PowerSouth Energy, where he led infrastructure development, project locations and expansions, site readiness, economic development finance structures and community development initiatives. Prior to his tenure with PowerSouth, Goodwyn worked in constituent and community affairs for Congressman Spencer Bachus in the Birmingham metro area.
Goodwyn’s background in both the public and utility sectors is the perfect foundation of experience to strengthen the Chamber’s role as a trusted partner to business, government, industry and the community.
