Bryant Bank was named Best Small Bank in Alabama, and PNC Bank was named Best Big Bank in Alabama on a list of best banks in the U.S. from Newsweek magazine.
Newsweek partnered with Lending Tree for its first-ever ranking of banks. Banks were assessed on 55 factors, and best-in-class banks were named in 19 categories, including the Best Small Bank and Best Big Bank in every state.
“Like virtually every other aspect of our lives — work, school, shopping, entertainment, you name it — the pandemic is changing the way Americans bank,” says Diane Harris, Newsweek deputy editor-in-chief. “And those changes, in turn, are creating a new set of challenges and opportunities when it comes to picking the financial institution that best suits our banking needs.”
Paul Bryant Jr., chairman and CEO of Bryant Bank, says the ranking was “a very exciting acknowledgement.”
“I am incredibly proud of the job that Bryant Bankers do, day-in and day-out, to provide unbeatable service and legendary care for our customers and our Alabama communities,” he says. “It is our bankers’ dedication to putting care into action to help Alabamians invest in their full potential that resulted in achieving this outstanding recognition.”
Based in Tuscaloosa, Bryant Bank was founded in 2005 and now has 16 branches. PNC Bank is based in Pittsburgh and has almost 2,500 branches nationwide, including 56 in Alabama.
