Grede Manufacturing, which has been in Brewton since 1976, will close its facility there, affecting as many as 220 jobs. The Michigan-based company said it would move operations to other locations. In Brewton, Grede produces ductile iron castings primarily for the U.S. auto market. – The Brewton Standard

Birmingham church wants to buy former hospital campus

Redeemer Community Church in Birmingham wants to acquire part of the former campus of Trinity Medical Center. The church says the acquisition is under contract. The hospital campus is about 1.5 miles away from the church’s existing building in the Avondale area. – AL.com

Hot chicken restaurant will open in Montgomery

Eugene’s Hot Chicken, which opened in Birmingham in 2017, is planning a new location in Montgomery. It will be the company’s third brick-and-mortar location and its first outside of the Birmingham area. – Bama Buzz
