Birmingham’s Maynard Cooper & Gale merges with Nexsen Pruet

Combined law firm will be Maynard Nexsen

Birmingham-based Maynard Cooper & Gale and Nexsen Pruet, based in the Carolinas, will merge into a national law firm called Maynard Nexsen.

The merger, which will be effective April 1, will result in more than 550 lawyers operating out of 23 offices in the U.S.

Jeff Grantham, managing shareholder of Maynard Cooper & Gale, will be CEO and managing shareholder of the combined firm. Leighton Lord, chairman of Nexsen Pruet, will be president and chief strategy officer. Greg Curran, chairman of Maynard, will be chairman of the board and head of client relations for the combined firm.

Maynard Nexsen’s 23 offices will include Birmingham, Huntsville, Mobile and Montgomery.
