Birmingham designated federal Tech Hub
Birmingham is one of 31 regions designated a federal Tech Hub, which allows it to compete in a program that might lead to $75 million into the area economy. Two hundred regions competed for the designation. The goal now is to be among the five or 10 hubs to be selected by the EDA for significant investment. – Alabama Political Reporter

Alabama will get its first Margaritaville
Margaritaville, the late Jimmy Buffett’s tropically inspired restaurant and bar, will open its first Alabama location in Gulf Shores. The restaurant will be part of the Legendary Marina and Yacht Club, set to open in early 2024. – Bama Buzz
