President Joe Biden has rejected the nearly $15 billion proposed deal for Japan’s Nippon Steel to purchase U.S. Steel, which is based in Pennsylvania but has a plant in Fairfield. Biden had said in March he would block the acquisition. Nippon is half-owner of AM/NS Calvert in Alabama.  – AL.com

Kaliber has new president

Brent Dudley has been named president of Daphne-based Kaliber Management, which operates manufactured home communities. Co-founder Bryce McMurry remains as CEO. – Business Wire

DWG, Dorado purchase Montgomery property
