New trail will connect sections of Birmingham

A new 4.5-mile trail will connect west Birmingham residents to Red Mountain Park, the High Ore Line Greenway and Birmingham CrossPlex. The purchase of an inactive rail line that will be transformed into the Valley Creek Rail-to-Trail is scheduled to be announced today by the Freshwater Land Trust, Congresswoman Terri Sewell, the city of Birmingham, Jefferson County Commission and CSX Transportation. – Bham Now
