Beasley Allen files suits against Meta

Montgomery-based Beasley Allen has filed eight lawsuits against Meta, the parent company of Facebook, alleging the company exploited young people with addictive psychological tactics. The suits were filed in Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas.   – Alabama Political Reporter

 

EBSCO’s Bailey acquires Canadian company

EBSCO Capital announced the acquisition of Hydrolico International, a Canada-based distributor of hydraulic equipment, for EBSCO Industries’ portfolio company, Bailey International. Bailey is headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee. EBSCO Industries is headquartered in Birmingham. – EBSCO Capital

AU hosts first-of-its-kind timber conference

Auburn University’s College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment hosted the first cross-laminated timber conference in the Southern United States. CLT gives wood extra strength and fire protection, offering an alternative to concrete and steel.  The three-day conference featured 160 attendees from across the country.  – Auburn University
