Gadsden bioplastics company to expand

Calcean Minerals and Materials LLC, which makes straws, plates and other items for the food service industry, is undergoing a $7 million expansion in Gadsden. The expansion will include new equipment and add about 40 jobs. – AL.com

Daxko receives investment to accelerate growth

Birmingham-based software developer Daxko announced recapitalization of the company by Genstar Capital and existing investor GI Partners. The investment supports Daxko’s “accelerated innovation in product development, customer support, sales and marketing, and strategic acquisitions,” according to the company. – Daxko

 

PCIFS secures $20 million in contracts

Poarch Creek Indians Federal Services, created to serve federal customers, has secured more than $20 million in fiscal year-end contracts from agencies including the Department of Defense.
