Austal lands contract to service LCS fleet in San Diego

Austal USA, based in Mobile, has landed a U.S. Navy contract to handle repair, maintenance and modernization of littoral combat ships home-based in San Diego. The contract will allow Austal to expand its San Diego service center. – Austal USA

Lauded Birmingham bar is closing

The Atomic Lounge, the three-times James Beard Foundation Awards nominee in downtown Birmingham, will close its doors in October. The bar opened in 2017 and has been named to several national “Best of” lists along the way. – CBS 42

Nashville coffee café expanding to Birmingham

Nashville-based coffee chain Frothy Monkey is opening its first location in Alabama. The Birmingham location will be downtown, but an opening date hasn’t been announced, yet. This is the chain’s 10th location, but it’s the first outside of Tennessee.  – Fox 17

Elberta mobile home park sells for $1.3 million

Orchards Mobile Home Park in Elberta, along with some other land, sold for $1.3 million to a property group. The group plans to build townhomes for rent on part of the land. – AL.com
