Artemis may launch by end of month

After setting two unsuccessful launch dates, NASA hopes the largely Huntsville-developed Artemis I will take off Sept. 23 or 27 at Florida’s Kennedy Space Center. Crews are fixing an issue with a liquid hydrogen fuel feed line that caused NASA to scrub the Sept. 2 launch attempt and cancel the attempt scheduled for Sept. 5. – News 19

 

Sabans among upscale hotel owners

The Alamite, the 112-room boutique hotel in Tuscaloosa that boasts Nick and Terry Saban among its owners, will open next week. The downtown hotel is scheduled to open ahead of the Crimson Tide’s game against the University of Louisiana Monroe at nearby Bryant-Denny Stadium. – Tuscaloosa Thread

TVA launches EV charging in Alabama

The Tennessee Valley Authority has opened its first electric vehicle charging station in Alabama. The TVA opened the charging station off I-65 in Cullman as part of its Fast Charge Network. That network will eventually have charging stations through TVA’s seven-state footprint. – AL.com

 

Hoover breaks ground on mental health facility

Officials this week broke ground on a primary mental health facility in Hoover, with another planned for Madison County before the end of the year. Longleaf Wellness Center will be an inpatient and outpatient facility with a capacity of 60 clients.  – Alabama Political Reporter
