The federal Surface Transportation Board has ordered mediation in the dispute between Amtrak and railroads CSX and Norfolk Southern and the Alabama State Port Authority. The dispute involves the possible return of passenger rail service between New Orleans and Mobile. – Fox 10

 

State offices will close for Juneteenth

State offices will be closed Monday, June 20, in honor of Juneteenth, the newest U.S. federal holiday. Juneteenth, which recognizes the end of slavery in the U.S., is observed on June 19, but the state holiday will be on June 20. – News 19

Birmingham chef wins James Beard Award

Adam Evans, executive chef and co-owner of Birmingham’s Automatic Seafood and Oysters, was named Best Chef in the South at the 2022 James Beard Awards. The Beard Awards are largely considered the top honor in the culinary world. – AL.com

 

2 Huntsville complexes sell

The Windsor and Cambridge Court, two apartment complexes in Huntsville, have sold for a combined price of $17.5 million. The Windsor is an 88-unit complex, and Cambridge Court is a 64-unit complex.  The buyers were Mayfair and Navarino.  – Cision
