Dave Clark, a music education graduate of Auburn University who became CEO of Amazon’s worldwide consumer business, has announced his retirement. He has been with Amazon for 23 years. Clark recently gave the commencement address at Auburn.  – AL.com

 

Alabama earns Silver Shovel development award

Area Development, a national business publication, has awarded Alabama its Silver Shovel Award for economic development successes in 2021. The magazine named J.M. Smucker Co.’s decision to build a facility in Jefferson County as one of its Deals of the Year.   – Made in Alabama

Alabama seafood company recalls crab meat

Irvington Seafood, based in Irvington, has recalled 1-pound packages of crab meat after federal inspectors found listeria bacteria on cooking equipment and in the cooking room. Recalled packages, labeled “Crabmeat: Jumbo, Lump, Finger, and Claw meat,” were sold to distributors in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. – WVTM 13

 

Shunnarah launches legal scholarships

Alexander Shunnarah Trial Attorneys has launched the “Call Me Alabama Scholarship” for law-school students in Alabama. Shunnarah is giving three law students in Alabama up to $5,000 scholarships for the 2022-2023 academic year. – Birmingham Times
