The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has fined Dollar General stores in Alabama, Florida and Georgia $2.8 million for safety issues. The stores in Alabama are in Clay, Dothan, Odenville and Town Creek. – United States Department of Labor

 

Georgia group buys Alabama stores

Georgia-based Majors Management has acquired six convenience stores in Baldwin County owned by Bay Shore Oil. Bay Shore Oil has headquarters in Fairhope. – Yahoo! Finance

Grants go to colleges for innovation

Gov. Kay Ivey has awarded $1.3 million in grants to Alabama’s largest universities to help stimulate innovation, research and development. The schools given money were the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the University of Alabama and Auburn University. – Alabama Today
