Australia’s Allegiance Coal plans to buy Birmingham’s Short Creek Mine from Drummond Co. for $4.4 million cash and $11.5 million in a reclamation bond. Allegiance is headquartered in Australia but has two offices in Canada. – Financial Review

Onin Group acquires staffing company

The Onin Group, a staffing provider based in Birmingham, has acquired Trac Staffing, a light industrial staffing company located in Arkansas and Oklahoma. Terms of the deal were not announced. The two locations of Trac Staffing will be rebranded as Onin Staffing. – Staffing Industry Analysts
