Alabama Power has listed the Powell Avenue Steam Plant for sale for $10 million.

After a redevelopment plan fell through for the Powell Avenue Steam Plant in Birmingham, Alabama Power has listed the property for sale for $10 million. Alabama Power has owned the plant since 1952. A planned redevelopment featured the theater Alamo Drafthouse as the anchor tenant, but Alamo withdrew from the project in 2024.  â€“ AL.com

Gulf Shores moving forward with pedestrian bridge

Gulf Shores is moving forward with the construction of a $24.3 million pedestrian bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway. The latest plan includes the bridge, elevators and plazas on both sides.  â€“ OBA

Hoover restaurant opens retail store
