Alabama One Credit Union in Tuscaloosa purchased a former branch of the First U.S. Bank in McCalla. It became Alabama One’s 17th branch and extends the credit union’s service area in eastern Tuscaloosa County. – Credit Union Times

 

Georgia Tech wins contract, will do work in Alabama

Georgia Tech Applied Research Corp. has received a potential five-year, $121 million contract from the Missile Defense Agency for weapon system-related research and development efforts. GTARC will perform the work in Atlanta and in Huntsville. – GovCon Wire

GAF, Good360 partner for new Mobile redistribution center

GAF, North America’s largest roofing and waterproofing manufacturer, has teamed with product philanthropy leader Good360 to establish a community redistribution center in Mobile to provide disaster relief throughout the Gulf region. AT&T gives ASU grant for cybersecurity education

AT&T has given Alabama State University a $25,000 grant to promote education in the cybersecurity field. The grant, in part, will fund a six-week bootcamp for 20 ASU students to help them obtain cybersecurity certification.  – Alabama State University
