Alabama Launchpad names first 2025 finalists

Revamped program means more money for startups

Alabama Launchpad has announced its finalists for Cycle 1 of 2025. For the first time, the contest will feature startups competing within three industry-specific tracks.

The competition will award more than $100,000 in non-dilutive funding.

“With this new program structure, we are providing even more targeted mentorship and funding to help startups succeed in their respective industries,” said Estes Hughes, vice president of innovation and talent at Economic Development Partnership of Alabama, which teams with Innovate Alabama to present Alabama Launchpad. “We’re excited to watch these companies across technology, life sciences, and consumer goods sectors grow and contribute to the state’s economy.”

Here are the finalists in the industry tracks of life sciences, technology and consumer goods:

Life Sciences: Cognera Health, a company based in Newton developing AI-driven mental health assessment tools; Psigryph Corp., a Huntsville company that has developed its Nanopect nanodelivery system for agriculture, food and pharmaceutical applications; and Score Pharma Inc., a Huntsville company developing antibody therapeutics to improve patient responses.

Technology: Core Prototyping, a Huntsville company that creates prototyping solutions for hardware and software development; Elan Vital Development Services, an Auburn-based platform to help communities attract and retain talent; ProxyLink, a Birmingham company developing a digital identity verification company; and Ranalia Biotech Inc., a company based in Huntsville using AI in food safety and supply chain security.

Consumer Goods: Darling Grey, an apparel and home goods brand; Herban Soul Café, the Birmingham-based creator of the botanical tea brand Yced Tea; and the World Baseball League, a Birmingham company working to make baseball more accessible and entertaining.
