Amazon to open fulfillment center in Huntsville
Amazon expects to create about 500 jobs at a new fulfillment center planned for Huntsville. The 1 million-square-foot facility, currently under construction near Mazda Toyota Manufacturing in Limestone County, is expected to open in the fall. Amazon also has fulfillment centers in Bessemer and Theodore.  – WAAY 31

Daniel Corp. building $60 million Huntsville development
Daniel Corp. is building a $60 million luxury apartment complex in Huntsville. The seven-building development is along U.S. 431, adjacent to Hayes Nature Preserve. Units are scheduled to be available in the spring of 2022.  – AL.com 

Email: Amazon exec asked USPS to install mailbox during union vote
The National Labor Relations Board, investigating charges that Amazon employed illegal practices during a recent union vote at its Bessemer facility, was presented this week with an email detailing Amazon consumer CEO Dave Clark’s efforts to get the postal service to install a temporary mailbox outside the Bessemer warehouse. The vote for unionization ultimately failed, but the union filed grievances with the NLRB.  – Business Insider 

Alabama company wins $17 million cargo plane contract
Decatur’s Wolverine Tube Inc. has won a $17.4 million contract to make aluminum pallets for Air Force cargo planes. The work will be done in Decatur and is expected to be completed by Nov. 18, 2022. – Westport News
