Alabama Always has filed a lawsuit against the Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission, alleging problems in the group’s awarding of licenses. The AMCC awarded 21 licenses this month, choosing from 90 applicants. The AMCC has said its staff has found potential inconsistencies in scoring applicants.  – AL.com

National grant will aid Alabama connectivity

A $92.9 million grant to Zayo Group Holdings will allow the company to construct high-capacity fiber routes around the country. Zayo says the National Telecommunications and Information Administration Middle Mile Grant Program grant will enable network infrastructure in Eutaw, Leeds, Oxford, Vance and Villa Rica in Alabama. – Zayo Group Holdings
