UAH receives top research rating

The University of Alabama in Huntsville has achieved the highest research activity rating in the 2021 update from the Carnegie Classification of Institutes of Higher Education. UAH, part of the University of Alabama System, is rated as R1, meaning “very high research activity.”  – University of Alabama in Huntsville

Southern States completes $48 million subordinated notes offering

Southern States Bancshares, the holding company for Southern States Bank, announced the completion of a private placement of $48 million in aggregate principal amount of 3.5% fixed-to-floating rate subordinated notes due 2032 to certain qualified institutional buyers and accredited investors. Southern States expects to use the net proceeds from the notes for general corporate purposes.  – Yahoo! Finance

 

Austal recognized by Mobile engineers

Austal USA came away with two awards from the Mobile Area Council of Engineers at MACE’s annual banquet. Austal received the Project of the Year award, and Charlene Matthews, Austal’s structural engineer lead, was named MACE’s Marine Engineer/Architect of the Year. – Austal USA
