The Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association has announced its annual Suppliers of the Year Award recipients. This year’s honorees are TASUS for Small Manufacturer, KTH Leesburg Products for Large Manufacturer, and Adah International and Burr & Forman for Service Providers.
Awards were presented to the companies at a banquet last night. Here are the honorees:
TASUS provides automotive plastics molding, converted products and technologies to meet customer demand. The company established its first North American facility in 1989 and now has three manufacturing locations, including one in Florence that was established in 2012 and employs approximately 166 workers, according to the company’s website. AAMA named TASUS its Small Manufacturer Supplier of the Year.
KTH Leesburg Products, in Leesburg, is a tier 1 automotive supplier for underbody structural parts and components to companies worldwide. KTH was honored as the Large Manufacturer Supplier of the Year. The company combines human ingenuity with more than 430 production robots to make their products, according to a video made for the awards ceremony. The company carries IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and CTPAT certifications.
Adah International, in Birmingham, is an industrial contractor and consultancy, serving international manufacturing, construction and logistics industries with project management, engineering and training expertise. “We are really proud to receive the Supplier of the Year this year,” said Jens Reichmann, chief information officer and chief technology officer for the company. “I want to give a really special thanks to the people that make this possible — that is what we want to showcase as well — our team members and the people that do a fantastic job at Adah International.” Adah International was presented the Service Provider award.
Burr & Forman, one of Alabama’s largest law firms with multiple offices across the state, was founded in 1905 and, according to Greg Canfield, managing director of economic development for the firm, has a history of working with manufacturers in the state. “Today, we represent 40 of Alabama’s largest manufacturers,” said Canfield in a video made for the awards. “We’re representing those companies on everything from incentive negotiations to project agreements and contracts to labor and employment issues to matters even involving immigration.” Burr & Forman was presented the Service Provider award.
