Jackson Seawell has been named executive director of the Alabama Golf Foundation, effective Nov. 2. The Birmingham resident will lead the foundation as it moves from its founding into the construction of Golf House Alabama.
“My career has been about creating memorable experiences for people, and that’s the mindset I’ll bring here,” Seawell said.
Seawell formerly served as assistant director of stadium events for the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex. There he oversaw more than 40 large-scale events a year. Prior to that post, he was an event manager at Protective Stadium, where he led operations for its events.
A former Samford University golfer, Seawell began his career in the university’s athletics department. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sports administration and a master’s degree in business administration.
The Alabama Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, was established in April 2026 and has purchased acreage in Irondale, where it plans to construct Golf House Alabama, a public facility that will serve as a permanent home for golf in the state.
