Creative Cities Fund brings Ralph Schulz to Huntsville for Beyond Boundaries on October 28

The Creative Cities Fund, the philanthropic arm of the Huntsville Committee of 100, will host its annual luncheon, Beyond Boundaries: Reimagining Collaborative Regional Government, on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Jackson Center, 6001 Moquin Dr. NW, Huntsville.

This year’s conversation features Ralph Schulz, former chair of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce.

As CEO, he led the chamber from 2006 to 2025, as Middle Tennessee went from a recession-hit metro to one of the country’s fastest-growing regions. He will talk through what that growth demanded of neighboring governments and systems, and what held together when it worked.

Huntsville is not the first fast-growing city to run up against the limits of its own boundaries, and it does not have to learn this one the hard way. Planning that stops at a city line and services duplicated across jurisdictions are the questions the Committee of 100 has taken up in its shared services task force.

“Our region is growing faster than the systems around it were ever built to handle, and that pace is not slowing down,” said John Allen, chief executive officer of the Huntsville Committee of 100. “Ralph helped a neighboring metro work through exactly that while it was happening. What he brings us is the chance to get out in front of these questions across the region, together, instead of reacting to them one jurisdiction at a time.”
