The University of North Alabama’s The Shine On, Gold Comprehensive Campaign has exceeded its goal of $100 million and still has six weeks remaining. So far, the campaign has raised more than $104.3 million.
“The $100 million goal, while ambitious, proved within reach of our generous donors, who were with us each step of the way and who supported UNA broadly across each of the seven stated priorities that will have a long-term, positive effect on the university,” said Dr. Ken Kitts, president of UNA.
The campaign launched in September 2023 as part of the university’s Homecoming Celebration. During that event, the campaign’s seven priorities were announced:
- To raise $1 million to complete Phase 2 of the Fine and Performing Arts Enhancement Plan. To date, that goal has been exceeded with $1,990,498.30 raised.
- To raise $15 million for student scholarships. That goal also has been exceeded with $24.1 million raised.
- To raise $6 million for the Presidential Scholars Program. To date, more than $6.3 million has been raised.
- To raise $30 million for Bank Independent Stadium. To date, more than $30.7 million has been raised.
- To raise $1 million for the Aubrey and Annie Loonie ROAR Access Center. That goal has been exceeded with $1.4 million raised.
- To raise $3 million for the 1830 Fund. To date, $2,824,504.22 has been raised.
- To raise $44 million for donor-directed purposes. To date, more than $36.8 million has been raised.
“The response from our donors has been truly remarkable,” said Kevin Haslam, vice president for advancement and executive director of the UNA Foundation. “There is still time for those who have not participated in the campaign to do so. Our greatest desire is for everyone to know they are wanted and welcome and that their generosity will make a difference.”
The campaign ends on Sept. 30.
