Tuscaloosa-headquartered Alabama One Credit Union is acquiring Boaz-headquartered Peoples Independent Bancshares Inc., the holding company of Peoples Independent Bank. The announcement in February indicates that the purchase and assumption agreement is expected to close in the second half of 2026.
