UA business program named following $5 million gift
The University of Alabama Culverhouse College of Business has named its signature student leadership and professional development after alumnus R. James Kelly, whose family has committed to a $5 million gift. The program will be named the R. James Kelly Leveraging Engagement to Advance Development Program (or Kelly LEAD). Kelly, who died in 2021, was a two-time Culverhouse alumnus and former president of Family Dollar Stores Inc. – Culverhouse College of Business

Funderburk resigning from Ingram State
Annette Funderburk will step down as president of Ingram State Technical College effective Nov. 16. Funderburk, who has been president for nearly a decade, will become special assistant to the chancellor of the Alabama Community College System. – WSFA 12
