The city of Hoover has broken ground on a $22 million expansion of the National Computer Forensics Institute at the Hoover Public Safety Center. The expansion, including classrooms and an auditorium, will nearly double the institute’s space. – Hoover Sun

12 honored as part of disability awareness month

The Governor’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities gave out 12 awards this week as part of disability awareness month. Among the awards given were Large Business Employer of the Year, given to New Flyer of America and Phifer; and Small Business Employer of the Year, given to the University of North Alabama’s Dining by Chartwell’s. – Alabama Political Reporter

Birmingham restaurant reopens in new location

Carrigan’s Public House, the Birmingham restaurant and bar that closed its longtime location on Morris Avenue two months ago, has reopened in the downtown development called The William. The new location is a little more upscale than the original location. – Bham Now
