This image from the U.S. Library of Congress archives shows the night shift at work on the barges at Ingalls Shipbuilding Co. in Decatur in 1942. Ingalls built primarily barges in Decatur from 1930 to 1980, when it was sold to Trinity Industries and eventually closed. The former shipbuilding site is now called Ingalls Harbor.
