Birmingham loses grant for Birmingham Biotechnology Hub
A $44 million federal grant for the Birmingham Biotechnology Hub has been canceled. The grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration was to be divided among Southern Research, the UAB Center for Innovation Platforms and Therapeutics the PROPEL Center’s Biotech Advanced Upskilling Project and Lawson State Community College. – Bham Now
Sanders Trust breaks ground on Wisconsin hospital
The Sanders Trust, a health care real estate investment and development company based in Birmingham, has broken ground on a new rehabilitation hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Lifepoint Health facility will have 40 beds. – The Sanders Trust
