Interior design association names excellence award winners

Nine companies honored for their interior design work

Williams Blackstock Architects was presented the Best in Show and the Best of Education (Higher Ed) IDIE awards for its work on the Hood McPherson Building for Auburn University.

The International Interior Design Association – Alabama Chapter has named the 2025 IDIE Awards.

The biennial awards program invites organizations, firms and furniture dealers to submit projects completed within the previous two years. Submissions are judged by a panel of professional peers who practice in other market areas. The Best in Show award is presented to the firm or dealer that received the highest rank from the judges.

“The 2025 IDIEs have honored outstanding registered interior designers in Alabama, recognizing their creativity, dedication and passion,” said Jessica Babler, IIDA Alabama president. “This year’s winners have set new benchmarks for design excellence, shaping inspiring spaces and advancing the industry.”

The Best in Show award was presented to Williams Blackstock Architects, of Birmingham, for the Hood McPherson Building, Auburn University’s location in Birmingham. The company also won the IDIE for Best of Education (Higher Ed) for the same project. In addition, Williams Blackstock was presented the Best of Corporate (Large) award for Hoffman Media.

The Best of Assembly & Institutional award was presented to Davis Architects Inc., of Birmingham, for renovations at Seibert Hall.
