Integrated Defense and Security Solutions’ new DETECT 1000 baggage scanner features Artemis Shielding security curtains.

Artemis Shielding security curtains are now helping protect security officials and the traveling public from radiation at airport baggage screening sites.

Integrated Defense and Security Solutions has incorporated Artemis Shielding security curtains in its new DETECT 1000 baggage scanner. Artemis products are lead-free and non-toxic while still providing protection from radiation.

“We are very pleased to partner with IDSS to provide security curtains for their elite scanner,” said Artemis Shielding CEO Buddy Lockwood. “We share a commitment to innovative solutions that provide a safer environment and better experience for our customers.”

IDSS CEO and President Jeffrey Hamel added, “Incorporating the Artemis Shielding in our award-winning DETECT 1000 scanner enhances our patented Dynamic Flow Throughput radiation containment technology, further improving throughput by reducing the number of items pulled from bins while utilizing technology that reduces hazardous waste into the environment.”

Used in airports worldwide, IDSS scanners are based on computed tomography technology to provide images of items inside closed luggage. A year ago, IDSS scanners were the first to achieve Transportation Security Administration Airport Passenger Security Screening Level 1 certification.
