1818 Farms Wins Top, First-Ever Amazon Award

Natasha McCrary

Amazon recently named Mooresville, Alabama-based 1818 Farms as its Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year, in Amazon’s first-ever U.S. Small Business Spotlight Awards.

Owned and run by Natasha and Laurence McCrary, 1818 Farms sells bath and lifestyle products on Amazon Handmade and in hundreds of retail stores throughout the U.S.

Business Alabama told their story recently in “All Business on the Farm.”

The McCrarys started their business in 2012 on a family farm in the historic community of Mooresville, south of Huntsville. They make their products at facilities in Huntsville and ship them all across the country. The farm provides a branding platform through agritourism and social media.

“We’ve begun offering farm experiences” on the company website, McCrary tells Business Alabama. “Not everybody can do that. It’s the right way to do things, authenticity. We tell them we want them to leave here with five things that they didn’t know before they came. It makes them feel like they are getting into the trench and making the products. It’s something unique we offer.”
